A really cool Compgun by one of the late innovators in the world of Custom handguns, Austin Behlert. Behlert was well known for his unique and cutting edge work on Combat and Competition handguns, working from the late 1950s thru the 1990s. Austin made a custom full profile coned compensator for this Colt build, the Stainless barrel threads in all the way to the face of the comp, with 2 nice ports cut in the top. The Rear Bomar sight nicely installed. One of Behlert’s most well know modifications was the welded up finger grooves, and this gun has a great example of this major undertaking. The trigger guard nicely forged out square. Stippling on the guard and frontstrap. Safari arms Beavertail nicely installed. Note the grips from Herrett, with steel weighted slabs underneath that balance the gun nicely in the hand, and enhance the magwell opening! This gun has near zero muzzle rise and is a lot of fun to shoot. There is a small flat ahead of the rear sight cut on top, not sure if this was done for a dot mount or?
