1922 Smith & Wesson 44 Special Hand Ejector
Nice Classic Pre war Smith & Wesson N frame here! This revolver shipped in 1922, and has some interesting features. This is a Second Model 44 HE, 6.5” barrel, wears original Service grips. Numbers match on the frame (butt), barrel and cylinder. This gun was built on a leftover M1917 frame, note the Military inspection stamp under the crane next to the assembly number! This is why the gun has the lanyard ring on it. A couple other Custom features include the serrated front blade and a detent to aide in holding the cylinder open during loading and unloading, in my opinion these mods point to this gun having belonged to a real pistolero, and someone that trusted his life to the quality and speed in which he could implement his sixgun. The action is great on this gun and feels like it is unmolseted, the bore does have some scattered corrosion, but it groups my handloaded lead without issue or leading. A great shooter that surely has a story or two to tell, if you listen!
