The Pre War Colt Officers Model Target is one of the best kept secrets of both collectors and shooters. The 5” barrel length is nearly never encountered. This one, while used, is all original with the factory Archive letter. This classic Colt shipped to Chicago vendor, Von Lengerke & Antione. This shop was a famed favorite of both sides of the law, notably arming much of the Capone gang. This gun shipped just 2 years after Capone’s rise to power in Chicago, wish I knew who it sold to! the gun shows its age, but retains a good bit of original blue, there is a scratch going around the cylinder, likely from something getting stuck in the cylinder window, but there is no damage, and the gun shoots quite well, bright bore and chambers. Good action, I would say this piece was carried a lot and shot a little. Rare to see these with 5" barrels, and also quite rare to see the U notch rear sight and Bead front!
