A really outstanding example from one of the best to ever stroke a file on the 1911 Pistol, Ted Yost. This pistol was MFG and built by Ted in 2007. This pistol he built for his good friend Ray, and it exhibits some special features Ted mentioned to me when we discussed it. The front sight is a custom Fiber optic unit, requested by Ray, Ted very rarely would put FO sights on his guns, and when he did they were custom made like this. This is also the first gun he ever attached what would become his perfected magwell to, this magwell is soldered on and is peerless in feel and for fit and aesthetics. Note how perfectly it flows with the grips and the curvature of the frontstrap. Ted machined these magwells himself and painstakingly fit and blended them to each gun they were applied to, this one being the first! Other features include a properly mounted Bomar BMCS sight (not a simple install on an 80 series gun!), Nowlin ramped match barrel, hand cut 30 LPI checkering, Perfect handmade walnut grips that fit the frame and hand perfectly. Overall the gun could pass for unfired since built, very clean inside and out! Great gun in a great caliber!
