A stunning example of the best pistolcraft money could buy in the 1980s, Built in California by the late great James Hoag. Hoag needs little introduction, but this example built in the 80s on a 1977 Colt Large Roll Mark Govt model is in stellar condition. When it arrived here I noted the hardcrome frame was in great shape with only some minor wear, but the bluing of the slide was worn on the edges, and the roll marks were weak, so I lovingly restored the topend with recut roll marks and deep dark bluing like Jim would have applied to this Master Grade Longslide originally. Pistol is still very tight, smooth and crisp. Pistol is wearing a nicely aged set of Elephant Ivory grips. If Ivory isn’t your bag, let me know and we can discuss other options.
